Message a parent, or send one message to many people

Start a private conversation with a parent, or send one announcement to several parents at once from Messages. What a broadcast does and why to check it first.

Write to one parent when you need an answer, or send the same announcement to several people. Messages stay inside the app.

Before you start

  • Sign in as “Reception”.
  • Conversations may be reviewed by the center's management. Write as you would for the record.

Steps

  1. Open “Messages”. Your conversations are on the left.
  2. To write to one person, press “New conversation”.
  3. Type the parent's name in “Pick a recipient...” and click it in the list. The conversation opens.
  4. Type the message and press “Send”. The message appears in the conversation.
  5. To write to several people, press “Broadcast message”. Tick each person who should get it, then type the text.
  6. Check the ticked names. Press “Send to all”.

What a broadcast does

Each ticked person gets a separate private conversation with your message, and a notification in the app. They do not see each other, and their replies come to you one by one. A sent message cannot be recalled or edited, so read the text and the list before you press the button.

Result

The conversation with each person is in your list. A parent's reply appears in the same conversation.

If something looks different

  • The “Send” button is grey until you type something.
  • The message icon on the debtors card and on a subscription row, and the parent's name on a student's page, open the conversation with that parent directly.
