Frequently asked questions
Where is the Today page on a computer?
“Today” is a tab on a phone. On a computer, your lesson is on the “Dashboard”, under “Lesson in progress” or “Your next lesson”. Press its card to take attendance. See Take attendance for a lesson.
Why can I not take attendance before the lesson starts?
A lesson opens for marking at its start time, by the center's clock. Before that the buttons are locked and the page says when it opens. The month grid works the same way. See Take attendance for a lesson.
Can I change attendance after I saved it?
Yes. Open the lesson in the “Attendance” grid, press the cell until the mark is right and press “Save”. There is no time limit, but a lesson that has not started or is cancelled cannot be marked. See Fix attendance in the month grid.
What happens when I mark a student absent?
When you save, the student's parents get a notification. A mark that was already absent does not send it again. See Take attendance for a lesson.
What do behavior points do?
A point records good or poor behavior in a lesson. Points add up on the “Behavior” page, and the student and the parents are told when you save one. They do not change exam grades. See Give a student behavior points.
Why do I not see the Behavior page or the points?
Behavior points are off when the founder's setting “Who studies here” is “Adults”. Nothing is deleted: the page and the points return when the setting changes. See Give a student behavior points.
Who is told when I cancel or move a lesson?
The students of the group and their parents get a notification when you cancel a lesson, bring it back, change its time or move it to another day. A topic sends nothing. See Set a topic, change, cancel or move a lesson.
Who is told when I add homework?
The students of the group and each student's parents, as soon as you press “Add”. Marking a task done sends nothing. See Give homework to a group.
Can students hand in homework in the app?
Not yet. Students see their tasks and statuses, but you collect the work as you do now and press “completed” for each student who handed it in. See Check homework and mark who handed it in.
What score can I enter for a quiz?
A whole number from 0 to 100 for each student. Leave the box empty for a student who did not take the quiz: empty boxes are skipped. Students and parents are told of each new score. See Create a quiz and enter scores.
Who can I write to in Messages?
To the students and parents of your groups, other teachers, the front desk and the founder. A parent whose children are not in your groups is not in the list. Center management may review conversations. See Write to a parent and post news to a group.
Can I post news to all parents of the center?
No. In the “Feed” you post to your own groups. The founder and reception can also post to everyone, or to all teachers, parents or students. See Write to a parent and post news to a group.
